Domestic Violence Programs Hurting Women

The community treatment of abused women, even in large metropolitan areas, remains in the Dark Ages, according to my experience as a clinician. Instead of being nursed and pampered, victims are forced to live in dank shelters and given menial chores plus made to care for themselves and any children.


One of my patients who had no-where else to go in order to escape her abuser spent one night with her small son in one of these places and left as soon as she could the next day. She told me the place was a roach-infested rat’s nest.

Fitness - The Importance Of Exercise For Women After Surgery

Beginning An Exercise Program Over 40

When you begin an exercise program and you are over 40 years old, then there are a couple of details that you will need to address. First, see your doctor to evaluate your ability to tolerate the type of program you are planning. There are times when a condition lies dormant or is sub-clinical, which means you don t know you have it and can silently do more damage when you engage in a vigorous exercise program.


Secondly, you will need to address the clothing issue. Society is run by the youth and teens and junior clothing is in while women s clothing is difficult to find or exposes too much skin

to make us comfortable. Find clothing that is appropriate for the type of exercise, the place and that you find comfortable. Clothing won t make you work out harder or a better athlete but if you are comfortable while working out you may workout longer!

Start Your Exercise Program With Just One Set Of Movements!

I ve been spending so much time with coaching clients, making phone calls, and writing articles that I ve nearly forgotten to exercise.


And like most people, I m a devotee of one of the laws of thermodynamics; especially the item pertaining to inertia.


You know, the one that says: “A body in motion tends to stay in motion, while a body at rest, tends to stay at rest.”


Unquestionably, this explains what happens to me when I get busy with other things.
